As One In The Park

As you know, I love going to concerts and gigs all the time! So throw in an all-day event and class it as a festival, and you know I will be there.

Especially on a Bank Holiday weekend, with extra time to recover from the alcohol and jumping around.

As One In The Park

This May Bank Holiday weekend will be no exception, as I am hitting Victoria Park to go to As One In The Park. You have probably heard about this event over the last few weeks due to a certain Mrs Mirren storming out of her play, dressed as the Queen, to tell some promo drummers to ‘Shut the f*** up!’

Obviously, they did shut up, and since then the Queens understudy has announced she is going to go along for the enjoyment too!

1000 points for anyone who manages to grab a photo with her and a drum in her hand! :P

As One In The Park

This is probably going to be the biggest gay music festival in London for the past 5 years or so, especially after Pride-Gate last year. The LGBT community deserve a huge festival, and this is promising to deliver just that! Everyone I know has got themselves a ticket, and now all we are doing is praying for the sun to shine, and deciding what to wear.

You can tell it is a gay event with  the amount of text messages chatting about outfit choices!

If you have been living under a rock for the last few weeks, then you need to find out exactly what is going on, who is playing, and buy yourself a ticket for Sunday!  If you are there, come say hello if you spot me. I drink a Vodka Lemonade or a Magners!

Or even better, just watch this video first, and I will let you know how it was next week!

Beyonce – The Mrs. Carter World Tour

From the moment I knew I was going, I knew this show would not disappoint.

So much so, that the countdown to it involved me and Vitor emailing each other everyday about the previous night show. Had she sung a new song yet?!( Yes, in Paris thank god!). Who is supporting her (Someone unknown)?! What was the set list?!

What if Kelly and Michelle turned up?!

I have never been so excited for a show before. There has been this air of legendary status around Beyonce. I mean, who else can sell out a world tour without a new album these days? From the Superbowl performance, to the teasers of new music and advertisements, this woman can and will blow you away! Fortunately, the time came where we found ourselves back at The O2, unaware of how much this would blow our minds.

As always, we hit the Sky Backstage bar before the show for a few drinks and clock watch until the arena doors opened… We thought we bumped into our Queen B a couple of times en route though…

Sadly, it was only a cardboard cut-out and a fan with Beyoncé-inspired hair. We felt cheated.

Once inside the arena though, we knew we were in for the real deal. We met up with Sham, Ben and Ollie and grabbed a spot near the front of the stage…. and the countdown began…

As the arena filled up, the support act came and went (His name was Luke James, and looked like he was dressed as a priest), and the build up kept going until the lights dropped to darkness…

What happened next can only be described as a two hour Beyonce-tornado of hits, ass shaking, live singing and dance moves that put all the other pop-stars to shame.

Literally, we thought we were prepared for what was about to hit us… Boy, we were wrong!

When Beyonce has glitter and confetti, she has to have it bigger and better than anyone else.

It was like someone throwing a bucket of water over your head. It was everywhere. In my socks, my shorts, even my underwear!

I can’t really describe to you how amazing this concert was, because I am still trying to digest exactly what I went through in those two hours. I screamed at the Superbowl performance, I lost my mind when the tour was announced, and then to be 30 meters from this legendary artist was too much! It certainly went above and beyond anything I could possibly imagine… to the point where I turned to Vitor and was pinching myself to make sure I wasn’t imagining it.

When V and Sham asked what it was like compared to P!nk’s show the week before (That write up is coming!), I simply said ‘you cannot compare it, it was a completely different show musically and performance wise!’

Beyonce came, she shaked, she sang, she killed us.

I think the smile sums that up…

The Winning Shot

As you know, a few weeks ago I was asked to model for Headmasters and L’Oreal for my friend Gareth, and posted some backstage shots of the day itself.

Then, in typical fashion, the London life of playing catch-up 24/7 kicked back in and I totally forgot about the shoot until Gareth sent me a message the other day to let me know the winning shot had been chosen.

Oh. Dear. God.

Anxious, eager and excited to see the final shot, I sat at my computer waiting for the email to come through.

Then it did.

To say I was pleased was an understatement.

I absolutely loved it! And although I didn’t manage to take the coat home with me like I wanted, the whole shoot was a great day and I am over the moon with how the shots came out!

Gareth did a fantastic job with the hair, and a huge thank you to all the guys on the Headmasters team too! It was such a great day and all of the other images turned out to be brilliant…

If you fancy getting your hair did, then contact Headmasters and ask for Gareth (although the whole team are awesome at what they do!).
